We got Creeky talking about all things besides basketball and even I got to learn that the Mitch I met 6 years ago drinking “wet pu$$y” shots at the @stamfordgrandadelaide has all grown up.

Like majority of ball sport’s, basketball is a multi plane sport that requires the body to move on all axes.
.
Here I have @sobes2zero performing a low to high cable wood chop with a focus on an explosive concentric phase > catch > controlled eccentric phase for improvement in RFD and joint stability.
.
By performing this (among many other) exercise Sobz is minimising his risk of injury within the transverse plane as well as improving his on-court performance (euro step, crossover, step backs, etc).
.
If you want to know more about this multi-plane style of training DM me.

Deceleration is a major part of any ball sport.

Deceleration is a major part of any ball sport.
.
The ability to be able to slow one self in a safe and efficient way to be able to perform a concurrent movement (pass, kick, shoot, jump) is imperative for any elite (and those looking to become elite) level athlete.
.
We see in the first clip above an untrained deceleration, tall and narrow stance.
>> slide>>
In the next pic we can see how if left untrained it can potentially lead to an ACL injury through forward translation of the femur over the tibia.
.
When decelerating, stance must be wide, low and short (steps) to ensure maximal stability of the hip and knee through correct joint mechanics.
.
If you have any more questions about decels, DM me.

When beginning our respective journeys in strength
When beginning our respective journeys in strength and conditioning, @mitiseofficial and I did not have and did not want an education in Australian based strength and conditioning.
.
Our backgrounds were in high performance exercise kinesiology, as taught to us by @donalcarr via @paul.chek, where we were trained to look at the body as a system of systems.
.
In this episode of the @murphandmitiseshow, we discuss our backgrounds, the CHEK system and provide some advice to our younger selves should we be starting in the industry today.
